Many contemporary kitchen areas will use dark and white as their color plans with a black and white checkered floor, white wall space and either black appliances and dark kitchen cabinets or white equipment. Either of the two schemes will work well together. A white kitchen table or black dining room table will round out the area.
Kitchen cabinets take up 75% of the area in a kitchen independently and you must really think about what you are doing before you decide on the color of your kitchen. An open floor plan has a lot of space and normally many glass windows with a lot of light, so having dark-colored kitchen cabinets within will never be the focal point.
A kitchen design which is going for a higher technical look will normally have stainless steel devices and dark-colored kitchen cabinets. Black granite countertops, white wall surfaces and hardwood floor surfaces usually rounded out the area. Dark colored and white are considered natural colors, but if you don't know what you are doing and put dark kitchen cabinetry in a tiny kitchen the look can be dreadful. For instance, black kitchen cabinets in an apartment galley kitchen will look nothing lacking a black hole.
